A little painting exercise that I did in Photoshop. Again, just like the drawing of The Little Mermaid, it is more of an automatic drawing. I am trying to stretch my muscles, working experimentally.
The Little Mermaid

I have been trying to develope a new illustration style. This is a drawing that I just finished. It is of Ariel from The Little Mermaid. It is more of an automatic drawing. I have been trying to get the technique to be as close to Chinese Calligraphy as possible. There is no planning nor under drawing. I hope you all enjoy it. I am hoping to draw a femaie drawing every single day.
Making this drawing makes me think of the Thai epic Phra Aphaimanee. In the story, it also has a little mermaid who saved the Prince from the Sea Witch. I have been wondering which version came first: The Thai epic or Hans Christian Andersen’s story.

I have been sketching since I was young. Back then I wanted to enter the Animation Industry. We were always told to keep a sketchbook at hand. I go off and on carrying a sketchbook. These days I sketch for fun. These were done several months ago. I am posting them here for your viewing pleasures. I hope you enjoy them. It has been very murky outside over the last several weeks here in Orange County. I hope that my health will permit me to go out sketching again soon. A little fresh air always help with any ailments, I always say. I will post up more sketches as they come.

These are some sketches from the Costume Workshop that I attended awhile back. I really liked this model a lot. She had several really good poses. Ever since the Awakening, it has been difficult for me to sit up or stay up for very long. It is getting better, however. Most times when I go to these workshops, I don’t end up staying very long due to my body. I haven’t been to one in several weeks. I would really love to go back sketching and drawing again. I hope you enjoy these sketches. They are done with a Calligraphy pen on a Moleskine sketchbook.

I was spending some time with the Angel Johannes Kaitlin last night. We were watching some television together — reruns of Avatar: The Last Air Bender and Point Break to be exact — so I decided to do some sketching. Point Break was getting a little monotonous so we decided to collaborate on this drawing together. It started off being simply just three colours, but Kaitlin told me to add the red. So went in some Dr. Martin’s. Just a little fun drawing to pass an evening. More to come, I hope.
The Chronicles of Amanda Miller: The Christmas Story: Finished Ink – Page One

Finally, I finished inking the first page to The Chronicles of Amanda Miller: The Christmas Story. After three long days of work. I sure hope this won’t be the norm for every single page. Amanda and I would like to serialize about six pages every weekend during this month of December. The page isn’t completely finished. We have decided to make the comic tri-colour. I really want to do it the old fashion way, using multiple layers of vellum and composite the layers in Photoshop. Amanda wants me to go completely Open Source with this comic and use Gimp and Scribus for the compositing/colouring and layout. I’m far more proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite so we shall see.
